IFEX 13 Liter BACKPACK

The IFEX backpack is the most mobile support unit to be used in combination with the IFEX impulse gun. The unit holds a 13 liter water/agent cylinder, a 2 liter air cylinder and a pressure regulator with two outlets giving air pressure to the gun and to its water support. Water and any additive can be filled directly into the water cylinder, the concentration of additive should be reduced to 0,5 – 1% rather than the 3 – 6% normally recommended. The harness is provided with an additional bracket for mounting an extra air cylinder to support a breathing apparatus.

IFEX Trolley

The IFEX trolleys with their capacities of 35 to 50 litres allow the user to achieve more than a first attack. He can use the standard breathing apparatus and still be mobile and flexible; the water capacity for up to 50 impulse shots provide him with a fire stopping power to keep even large structural fires under control. The trolley consists of a water/agent cylinder, a 6 litre air cylinder and the pressure regulator with two outlets. The unit is assembled on a wheel base with brackets for the impulse gun, the air cylinder and a 15 meter coaxial hose.

HOSE REEL / HOSE REEL SKID

The IFEX hose reel – with its special coaxial hose of 30 to 100 meters – is designed for the use onboard all types of fire engines in combination with the IFEX impulse gun and works with the truck's water tank and pump. An air cylinder supplies the air pressure for the required number of impulse shots.

For vehicles not having an autonomous water supply, such as passenger cars, station wagons etc., IFEX offers the complete solution: a hose reel with 55 meter hose, water tank and air cylinder are installed on a skid. The skid can be mounted onto the vehicle within seconds.

Dual Intruder Skid

With the Dual Intruder skid the combined power of the two connected 12 litres impulse cannons is mounted onto pickups or small sized trucks within short time. A water tank with 1000 litres capacity provides the extinguishing agent for the impulse shots; air supply is provided by air pressure cylinders or compressor. Additionally, a further two hose reels with impulse guns are mounted on the skid thus transforming an ordinary transportation vehicle into a versatile fire fighting vehicle for rapid initial attack..

Tractor Unit

Perfect for fighting forest and wildland fires: a regular tractor can be transformed into a highly effective fire extinguishing vehicle. The frontloader connection holds the IFEX unit with the 25 liter Dual Intruder cannons; a camera mounted in between the cannons assists in targeting of the shots.

The supply platform with extinguishing agent tank, pump and compressor is hooked to the three-point-hook at the back. Aiming and shooting sequence is regulated via the control panel in the driver's cabin.

All Terrain Vehicles

The IFEX solution for fire fighting in inaccessible terrain are the specially designed IFEX all terrain vehicles.
The ATVs currently in use by the fire brigade in Cairo, Egypt are based on the Honda FourTrax Foreman motorcycle and carry a 50 litres watertank plus a 55 meter hose reel with impulse gun mounted on top.
Where high flexibility is required the ATVs increase the firefighter's versatility and enable him to reach the site of the fire speedily regardless of terrain conditons.

ELECTROMOBILES

Airports, shopping malls, hospitals and other large buildings with public access have special reqirements to an effective extinguishing system: it has to be highly mobile, small and nimble, and the power source must be designed in compliance with fire protection regulations. Here the IFEX electromobiles are the tailormade solution: the 2,5 KW electromotor takes the complete initial attack equipment – 50 liter water tank, air cylinder, hose reel and impulse gun – with up to 30 km/h to the site of the fire.

Wheeled system

The IFEX tunnel truck carries 2 x 12 or 2 x 15 litres impulse cannons. In addition, hose reel units with the one liter handheld IFEX impulse gun are mounted. The truck is provided with a 1000 litre water reservoir, motor driven water pump and air cylinders for powering of the impulse cannons and the impulse guns.

The cannons are equipped with a pan and tilt mechanism for shooting in all directions and are operated from the driver's cabin. For accurate shooting the mechanism has a locking system that is activated upon triggering. In a tunnel fire situation, the trucks will enter the tunnel openings and shoot frequently to reduce the temperature, reach the site of the fire and extinguish. The Tunnel FireHunter is equipped with an inline foam injector for effective extinguishing of liquid fuel fires.

IMPULSE TECHNOLOGIES RC (Riot Control)

The IFEX impulse technology is based upon the principle of discharging small amounts of liquids at a high velocity within a short period of time.

The IFEX RC System , based on the impulse unit for extinuishing systems, is a product development specially designed for use by the police, border control, special forces, military police and in dentention institutions. The impulse RC System is specially designed to enable the autonomous interaction and multitask operations of a man-based operational unit.

The IFEX RC System provides a strategic modus operandi with high versatility, a controlled and aimed use, it is a multifunctional tool which is safe and simple to operate.

The Riot Control application consists of an impulse gun and a backpack or trolley unit with a water reservoir, air pressure cylinder, regulator and flexible hoses with snap on connections.

The propellant is compressed air which is reduced from 300 to 25 bar for the impulse gun, and to 6 bar for the water reservoir.

The system is activated by connecting the impulse gun to the backpack or trolley with the snap on connections, opening the air cylinder, filling the impulse gun by opening the water valve, aim and shoot.
